Feel The Spin, June 6th...

Hour 1
(Brand-new/current releases. The word-of-mouth on Christina Aguilera's new album has been iffy. I say, give it a chance! This hour features two amazing songs from the forthcoming "Bionic." Hour 2
(Full disclosure: I was apprehensive about talking with Chely Wright. I had a mildly bad attitude about an artist seemingly past her sales prime using the revelation of her true self as a promotional tool for a comeback. Then I walked into the room and talked with Chely.... without prejudice and with respect. She answered every hard question directly. She never broke eye contact. I totally understand her journey now, and I adore her. I am so proud of this interview.)

A conversation with Chely Wright

(I have always been a fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter. She is my personal definition of a modern-day poet and philosopher. Then we nearly lost her several years ago to heart problems. I didn't think we'd ever get new music from her again. Surprise! She's made the most glorious album, "The Age of Miracles." I leapt at the chance to speak with her. We didn't just have a great interview, we connected. Our hearts touched. I found a kindred spirit in Mary Chapin.)

Hour 2
(An eclectic hour that leans heavily on songs that sound good to me on a warm spring day. I love the blend of "Angel of Harlem" into "Waitin' On A Sunny Day." It's sorta like a musical equivalent to a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Oh, and I stand by my assertion that Patti Smith's reading of "When Doves Cry" is superior to the original. To my ears, she finds emotion and intensity in the lyrics that Prince didn't.)
